Current time is Mountain Time (Colorado) and if you live in another time zone, please adjust the deliver time to fit your zone (e.g., if you live in the Pacific Zone, subtract 1 hour; in the Central Zone, add 1 hours; in the Eastern Zone, add 2 hours). The delivery time includes 1 hour for Dr. Jerry or Dr. Swisher to complete the interview plus 4 hours to develop a draft résumé or a total of 5 hours. If your order is placed before or after normal business hours (7:30AM to 4:30PM MST – Monday through Friday) then a draft will be delivered within 4 hours after completion of the interview.
Generally a client needs his or her new résumé YESTERDAY and seldom do clients plan ahead nor have a good, professionally developed, résumé in the glove box of their car. It does not help to have a résumé within 2 or 3 days when you have an interview tomorrow; Dr. Jerry and Dr. Swisher understand that fact and will do anything in their power to accommodate a ‘rush’ order without addition charge.
Some résumé writing firms charge extra for “rush” service and that seem foolish to the firm. The firm does not think that the client needs to suffer because the résumé writer is slow. Most importantly, unless the résumé writer starts your project immediately after completing an interview, valuable information can be excluded.
Dr. Jerry and Dr. Swisher have delivered presentations, twice, at the annual convention of the Professional Association of Résumé Writers, on how it is possible to interview and write a top-quality résumé quickly – much to the chagrin of many in the audience. More firms are now using his model but they are charging a premium for such services. That is unfair.
Any professional résumé writer can write a good résumé in 2-3 days, but only those with great experience, great talent, and very sophisticated voice recognition software can produce an effective draft within 4 business hours without the use of cookie-cutter techniques.
Many résumé writing firms still take days if not weeks to deliver a product to the client and the firm does not believe this is either wise or necessary. Both Dr. Jerry and Dr. Swisher are “do it now” professionals and they start writing résumés for clients within moments after completing their interview (while the information is fresh in their mind) and they promise to deliver a draft of the new résumé to the client via e-mail within 4 business hours – without extra charge.
While they seldom answer incoming calls over the weekend (something about wanting a ‘life’) they consistently write success stories for their clients at all hours. Additionally, they interview clients when it is convenient for THEM and if this means over the weekend, in the evening, or before the sun rises – they make an effort to comply.
Many résumé writing factories do not even interview clients directly – they send the client a “questionnaire” and then attempt to write the résumé based on the answers contained in the “questionnaire.” Dr. Jerry and Dr. Swisher believe that without a personal interview it is impossible for anyone to get a “feel” for the client and, as a result, it is impossible to determine how to design a résumé that fits the client.
Many résumé writing factories hire writers on a contract basis to write résumés and the company is basically a marketing tool. It is critical to know exactly who your résumé writer is and why s/he is qualified to write your success story.
Every client is personally interviewed by Dr. Jerry or Dr. Swisher – and they write every résumé, without exception.
There are two exceptions to the firms’s turnaround promise:
- The creek cannot rise; and
- More than 12 inches of snow or 6 inches of rain cannot fall causing a loss of power.
